Cool 3D...

Yesterday we ran into a great experience...
At our local art-rental-center they had an expo about 3D printing. I caught this skull at the expo with my mobile phone, did some photoshoppin' afterwards.
Yes, this skull came from a 3D-printer. Ain't that beautiful?
Also check out the work of Eric van Straaten...

Hanging loose...

Vacation time...
I don't really know who is the creator of vacation time but I think we should thank him/her.
The beauty is in the fact that you can do what ever you want with whom ever you want where ever you want.
You are free!! Free to do what you feel like. Free to create if you feel like or just chill if you feel like that.
Nobody there to tell you what to do, it's your time...
Enjoy your annual vacation and enjoy what you'll be doing.
Stay safe and happy returns...

Curved lines...

I can still remember my brother bought his first mobile-/car phone...

Motorola was the brand to buy. He bought a double car kit, one for his private car and one for his truck. He rode around Europe as a trucky. A big car kit with a big horn with the buttons on the out-side and a big box with electronics. As an extra he got a mobile phone; pull-out antenna and fold-open the lower half. About 1 1/2 inch thick and heavy as a brick... Cost a furtune!
That was 1990...
If you look at the mobile phones of today... It's more like a pocket pc; internet, agenda, camera, e-mail, navigation and so on. Thinner and thinner they get, screens getting bigger and bigger.
I love the Samsung Galaxy design with the rounded corners and the smooth looks. It's almost a piece of art...

(Did you ever see that crash test with and iPhone and a Galaxy... Google it!)

Keep colouring...

Ever since Graphic school been working with these fine markers... Only the design is already cool... Refillable, rounded edges,
two way tips, two sizes in tips but very expensive...
Love the colours...!

Threadning...

At the time of the idea and design, the artist must have
felt pretty screwed...
But it's still a good idea, when you nailed something and it won't stick
to think of another way to keep it in its' place...
Why don't you screw it...?
They come in all shapes and sizes.
Bold headed, flat headed even with a cross or do I say Philip shead.
Notice the t
hread running down its' side, allll the way down...

So if nailing isn't good enough, you have to screw it...!!!

Roundings on the beach...

On the beach...
On the beach we're surrounded with curved shapes and
all sorts of roundings. I love those shapes and
curved lines flowing into other curved lines, some disappearing into unseen dark areas.
Flowing curved lines and roundings, beautiful!

Respect to the artist who created these pieces of art.

Gee...

Gee... what can I say...
It's been almost 20 years since I've opened my eyes to the
beauty of this letter.
In graphic school, in typography lessons they learned us to open our eyes to the beauty of letters and typefaces. One of my favorites is the lower case g of the Garamond font/typeface. Beautifull roundings,
almost like the shape of a woman.
(I think the designer was a womanloving man...)

Spokes spoken...

Spokes...
A rhim, a hub and spokes. That's what it takes to
keep it round and rideable.
Through a hole in the hub, attached to the rhim with a
small locking nut. The little nu is also useable for
adjusting the tension of the spoke...
The beauty is they all work together like a team,
dividing the hanging force of the spokes on the top half
of the wheel.

Wrench shapes...

The curves and line of a monkey wrench...
The mouth of the bolt or nut holder is adjustable, ain't that
a great idea...
The shape of the hand area is shaped so you have a better grip whilst using it. Better the grip the more force you can use on the wrench. At the end of the stem they created a hole so you can hang you wrench on a nail on the wall.
So practical!
The artist created a beautifull and practical tool,
the 'Monkey wrench'

Gravel...

The beauty of/in gravel...
The size, shapes and colours are all different.
The gravel with the rounded shapes got their shape from running water, how about that. That soft water shaping rocks.
In other words; water rocks!

Magic spoon...

This weekend my family and I ran into the wonders of the magic spoon again... We used the spoon to see our mirror image whilst we were trying sunglasses. When you look in the outer side of the spoon you see yourself 'normal' but what happens when you look at yourself in the inner side...? Indeed, you see yourself up-side-down... aint that magic???
And another thing about spoons; did you ever try to let it hang from the tip of your nose? That's magic too...!!!

New flops...

Bought myself a new pair of Reef flipflops...
The footshape contours, the minimalistic straps. Beginning at on the inner- and outer side of either foot and disappear between the biggest
and second biggist toe.
Isn't it great how the artist created a minimalistic shoe
specially for the summer...
